Let’s talk the brain!

Here is a video from Dr. Mona Amin that is designed to help you learn more about cognitive development and things that you can do at home to help your baby thrive!

Ask your child lots of questions!

Keeping conversations going can allow your child to learn about new things and encourages them to think for themselves, make their own connections to things they may want to know, and allows them to work through conversations as well.

Allow for Creativity

Allowing your child to do creative activities like arts and crafts can give them an opportunity to make connections to their own experiences and using their experiences to make new art. Maybe they choose to draw a lady bug because they just saw one and now you know that they understand what a lady bug is, what color it is, and that they may be interested in it.

Here Dr. Shonkoff from Harvard works to explain how you as a parent can help sculpt your child early in life through play and engaging with your child!

This is a video from the amazing 7 year old Molly Wright discussing her own experience with the brain and cognitive development!
