  • This screening tool has multiple different versions that should be used by physicians throughout childhood that tests for cognitive, behavioral, and emotional health to facilitate early intervention if necessary

There are many different types of screenings that exist for childhood development, and you may be presented with others that aren’t listed above. Use the Screening Toolkit button below to see many other developmental testing methods. It is very likely that most to all guardians will interact with the three tools above but there will be special circumstances where other screening tools may be needed.

Important Things to Remember:

Screening tools can seem overwhelming. It’s important to remember that it’s ok if your child isn’t able to do everything on these tests. Every child is going to develop at different times, these tests just allow you and your doctors to catch any noticeable delays early, allowing intervention to try to prevent any lasting effects. Trust your gut! If you notice something out of the ordinary, don’t be afraid to talk to your physician about it. They may be able to provide you with some of the screening methods to test and allow your child to receive the care they need.
