The purpose of developmental monitoring is to make sure your physician has the answers they need to help identify if your child is presenting with any developmental delays.
While this step may seem like a lot is riding on what you notice, don’t worry! There are so many tools that can help you perform your monitoring duties appropriately. A good tool you could use is the CDC’s developmental milestone tracking app! This app allows you to track all of your child’s developmental growth while following CDC’s guidelines and will notify you of important milestones to keep track of. You can then take this information to your physician if you have any concerns that you’d like to address!
Developmental Screening will run more efficiently when a parent has monitoring information that allows a doctor to gauge the situation based on any apparent concerns! If you see something, say something!
